"GOVERNOR" FEINSTEIN CAN PICK BROWN TO FILL HER SENATE SEAT

If U.S. Senator Dianne Feinstein (D-CA) jumps in to the CA Governor race for 2010, and WINS, as D.I. believes she would, she can appoint her own replacement in the U.S. Senate.

She won't have to resign her U.S. Senate seat until being sworn in as Governor, and at THAT time can choose who will fill her seat.

For the sake of party unity, DEM ISSUES urges Jerry Brown to DROP OUT of the Governor race on the "promise" condition that "Governor" Feinstein appoint BROWN to her U.S. Senate seat, a job he once ran for back in 1982!

A backroom deal?

Yes, of course, but THAT way Brown can become a U.S. Senator without all the negatives (see last item) being brought up by the Republicans which we know they will if he stays in the Governor race....which by the way, he hasn't officially announced for yet.

All the money he raised can be transferred to "Feinstein For Governor," giving her an unbeatable edge.

And when it is time to run for re-election, "U.S. Senator" Brown could retire, OR run on his own as an incumbent....a tougher position to beat than where he appears now.

D.I. urges Feinstein & Brown to meet privately to discuss and CUT such a "deal," that D.I. believes would be a win-win situation for our state, our party, and our country.

D.I. URGES NEWSOM BACKERS TO DRAFT FEINSTEIN

DEM ISSUES urges backers of San Francisco Mayor Gavin Newsom to work toward the goal of drafting U.S. Senator Dianne Feinstein (D-CA), a former San Francisco Mayor herself, to run for the Democratic nomination for Governor of California next year in 2010.

D.I. is worried that the Republicans will once again taint Attorney General JERRY BROWN with negatives from his last go-round as CA Governor such as the controversies involving the Medfly, Rose Bird and her unfortunate casualties Cruz Reynoso and Joseph Grodin, Jane Fonda crony O.C. Supervisor Edison Miller, and our "favorite" (sarcasm intended) Caltrans leader Adriana Gianturco and her hare-brained "diamond lane" in 1974 on I-10 when she took away AN EXISTING LANE for her "diamond lane" fiasco.

Feinstein does NOT have that baggage of Jerry Brown.

Maybe most CA voters have forgotten the above faux pas's of former Governor Brown.

DEM ISSUES knows that the Republican party will bring up each and every one to dog Brown with them wherever he goes.

Feinstein is a SAFER bet for our Democratic party.

However, if Senator Feinstein does NOT run, D.I. will back Jerry Brown.

And DEFEND him wherever he goes.

THAT'S our promise.

DEM ISSUES salutes the gutsy and highly articulate U.S. Congressman Alan Grayson (D-FLA) of Florida who had the guts to say what Harry Reid, Nancy Pelosi, and Max (No Public Option) Bug-Ass WON'T:

The Republican Party IS "The Selfish Party," and Grayson is RIGHT ON on the insensivity the Republicans have on health care.

DEM ISSUES supports social justice and will fight from this blogsite to CORRECT any social injustice.

D.I. sees Alan Grayson as a HUGE STAR on the rise in our party and want him to run for Governor or U.S. Senate in Florida at BEST opportunity.

And D.I. also is looking forward to the day when President Obama will allow gays and lesbians to serve OPENLY in the U.S. military.
